Calf muscle strains and tears are very common. The underlying causes vary but with thorough investigation and biomechanical assessments we can understand if it is related to weakness, training load, shoes, running surface, stiffness or lumbar spine issues. More often it is a combination of these underlying causes.
We have a special interest in runners, running injury treatment and endurance sports and are well placed for non-invasive management of these issues. Our treatment is aimed at reducing scar tissue, improving lumbar spine function and ensuring the sciatic nerve is tracking easily to the muscles. We work with you to increase calf flexibility and strength while preventing recurrence. We have also been able to assist athletes to modified their training plan and guide them to the finish of their goal races, including several Kona and Roth finish-lines.
